Karabin powtarzalny produkcji rosyjskiej i radzieckiej, którego twórcą był oficer carski Siergiej Mosin. Broń wzorowana była na konstrukcji belgijskiej Leona Naganta. Karabin ten kilkakrotnie poddawano modernizacji i ze zmianami produkowano w latach 1890-1948. W okresie II RP zdobyczne Mosiny ze składów carskich i wojny polsko – bolszewickiej, w ramach ujednolicania broni i amunicji przerabiano, zmieniając kaliber do 7,92 mm amunicji Mausera. Mosin z celownikiem optycznym był bronią snajperów – Simo Häyhä i Wasilija Zajcewa.

The Mosin-Nagant is a five-shot, bolt-action, internal magazine-fed rifle, developed by the Imperial Russian Army in 1882–91, and used by the armed forces of the Russian Empire, the Soviet Union and various other nations. Its creator was a tsarist officer named Sergei Mosin. The weapon was modeled on the structure of the Belgian, Leon Nagant. The rifle was repeatedly improved and produced in between the years of 1890-1948. During the time of the Second Polish Republic, Mosins were captured from the tsarist armory’s and by Poles during the Polish-Bolshevik war. The Mosins were then processed by changing their caliber to the 7.92 mm of the Mauser ammunition. The Mosin, with a telescopic sight, was the weapon of snipers – Simo Häyhä and Vasily Zaitsev.
